On Sept. 1, the Center for Digital Government announced its Best of the Web and Digital Government Achievement Awards, with Arkansas enjoying recognition for both honors. An offshoot of e.Republic Inc., the Center for Digital Government is a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government.
The BOW, now in its 15th year, identifies exceptional government portals and websites by looking at their efficiency, functionality, and use of innovations. In the State Portal Category, Arkansas earned a second place win, beating out every state but California.
For its part, the DGAA recognizes "outstanding agency and department websites and projects at the application and infrastructure level." In the Government-to-citizen State Government category, Arkansas received an honorable mention nod for the website, Mobile.Arkansas.gov. Also receiving honorable mention accolades, in the Government-to-business category, was the Office of State Procurement-Professional Consulting Services Online Contract & Amendment Submission Application.categories
