The Arkansas Research Alliance has added eight new board members.
ARA is a public-private venture governed by a board comprised of chancellors from Arkansas research universities and CEOs from across the state.
The new board members are:
- Ritter Arnold, Ritter Agribusiness Holdings, Inc., Marked Tree
- Steven A. Cossé, Murphy Oil, El Dorado
- Ray C. Dillon, Deltic Timber Corporation, Little Rock
- Jeffrey R. Gardner, Windstream Company, Little Rock
- Carol Johnston, Walmart, Bentonville
- Charles Nabholz, The Nabholz Group, Conway
- Reynie Rutledge, First Security Bank, Searcy
- Steven R. Smith, Verizon Wireless (South Central Region), Little Rock.
The new additions represent a decision to grow the private sector membership of the board, and brings membership to 19. ARA plans further board expansion to 25.
Board expansion was launched last year in conjunction with two new ARA programs, Arkansas Research Alliance Scholars and the Arkansas Research Conference program.
