Senior Courtney Jackson scored a career-high 20 points on Thursday night to lead the UALR men’s basketball team to a 72-51 victory over Louisiana-Monroe at Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The Trojans, 7-11 overall, shot 50 percent from the field in the win to move to 4-0 in Sun Belt Conference play for the first time since the 2001-02 season and will travel to Jonesboro to meet Arkansas State.
Not being able to contribute was difficult on Arkansas running back Knile Davis, who appeared Thursday on ESPN’s College Football Live. Davis talked about what it was like to witness an 11-2 season from the sidelines.
The Landers Award, given to the best high school football player in Arkansas, was handed to Pulaski Academy's Fredi Knighten. The quarterback says he's looking at either Louisiana Tech or Arkansas State as possbile colleges.
And former Springdale, Arkansas and Southern Cal quarterback Mitch Mustain is the star of a new documentary being produced. In it, Mustain talks about his love of the game – and guns.
