UA RFID Center Forms Global Alliance

The University of Arkansas RFID Research Center has joined seven other research centers in the U.S., Europe and Asia to found the Global RF Lab Alliance.
This alliance of radio frequency-focused laboratories was founded by the University of Florida; Georgia Institute of Technology; University of Parma, Italy; University of Bremen, Germany; the Chinese Academy of Science; Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; LIT Korea - Pusan National University; and the UA.
In a news release, the UA said the goal of the organization is to increase the value of members' work through mutual sharing of resources and expertise.
The alliance will focus on industries such as retail, automotive, aviation and logistics. Research topics include supply chain automation, product life cycle, cold chain, food quality and pharmaceutical and healthcare applications. The group's research will be published in the International Journal of RF Technologies: Research and Applications, which will first be published in 2008.
