UALR Lands $750,000 NASA Grant

NASA has given the University of Arkansas at Little Rock a $750,000 grant to conduct research into noninvasive methods of exploring the subsurface of the moon for ores and minerals.
The grant was among $17 million in awards made to institutions nationwide to make contributions to the research and technology priorities of the agency.
UALR's grant is part of NASA's Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research, or EPSCoR).
The EPSCoR program is designed "to assist states in establishing an academic research enterprise directed towards a long-term, self-sustaining, and competitive capability that will contribute to the states' economic viability and development."
Twenty-three proposals were selected for funding. Winning proposals were selected through a merit-based, peer-reviewed competition.
