DuPont has gone to the hogs.
The science-based products and services company recently purchased IsoTherming technology and intellectual property from Fayetteville-based Process Dynamics Inc.
Process Dynamics is known for their development of cost-effective, high-tech solutions for the refining industry and IsoTherming has been one of their "bright-star" technologies.
Basically, the technology makes diesel fuel burn cleaner, said PDI founder and president Mike Ackerson.
The deal closed on Aug. 28 and terms were not disclosed. Ackerson said the deal came with a contract for the two companies to partner on further development.
DuPont company spokeswoman Stephanie Jacobson said DuPont plans to integrate the new technology into the DuPont Clean Technologies, which is part of the DuPont Chemical Solutions Enterprises, to help reduce the level of sulfur in fuel.
