IA client reBounces won the South Central Clean Tech Open on Friday in Austin, Texas.
(Arkies going into Austin and bringing home a win….we like that.)
Next stop is the Cleantech Nationals Nov. 8-9 in San Jose. By winning the South Central regional competition, reBounces won $10,000 in cash. The South Central Region consists of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
Top prize at Nationals is $250,000 in cash and services, and of course, a lot more exposure and recognition. Cleantech just introduced regionals to the process this year.
IA clients cycleWood Solutions and Silicon Solar Solutions have experienced Cleantech success in the past, including SSS winning the 2010 Cleantech People’s Choice Award.
ReBounces co-founder Cannon Fletcher told INOV8 that making the finals was a definite “feather in the cap” for the Harrison firm. ReBounces will compete in the air, water and waste bracket of the national competition, and Fletcher agrees that his firm stands out from most green companies. ReBounces created the Green Tennis Machine that repressurizes old tennis balls, reducing the landfill impact and saving tennis facilities money.
“We’ll be the biggest outlier of anybody there,” Fletcher said of the competition at nationals. “But we think we have a really strong position in the clean tech world.”
Fletcher said reBounces’ product is carbon neutral and in terms of green, represents a “pretty powerful tool in and of itself.”
The national Cleantech Open will feature roughly 20 teams narrowed down from more than 300. Good luck, guys.
