Power Technology Among Arkansas Business of the Year Winners
Innovate Arkansas client Power Technology of Alexander was the Category II winner at the 2008 Arkansas Business of the Year Awards, announced Feb. 24 during a ceremony at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.
The company, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, specializes in the niche manufacturing of specialty laser products. Founded by Thomas Burgess on his kitchen table, the venture has grown from a home-based business into an international enterprise.

More than 800 people gathered in the Wally Allen Ballroom of the Statehouse Convention Center to honor businesses, nonprofits and executives in seven categories. Category II honors mid-sized businesses with between 26-75 employees.
